For Release: May 19, 2004 VersiTech Team Meets with Purdue University Fort Wayne, IN - The VersiTech Team met with Purdue University May 19, 2004. Purdue University of West Lafayette, Indiana sponsored a presentation given by VersiTech, LLC to demonstrate world-class products to ensure campus readiness in the event of a crisis situation. VersiTech's wide range of services designed exclusively for higher education was demonstrated. These products include: threat and vulnerability assessment, command and control software, emergency operation centers and crisis call centers. Purdue's response to our presentation was very positive showing their commitment to be a leader of the industry. This presentation illustrated an individual assessment for Purdue University. VersiTech's threat and vulnerability assessment can allow Purdue to assess one or all of the campus buildings. This assessment will then be provided in the form of an "R" score (Risk score). VersiTech can advise and implement a plan to reduce this "R" score. This is especially valuable to university sponsored events such as athletic venues. VersiTech's command and control software is the same software used by the U.S. military to help fight the war in Iraq. This software will allow Purdue interoperability with campus security, local police, fire and EMS. Along with a scenario replay feature, the software can be used as a training tool in crisis situations and the day to day operations of campus safety staff. As the responsibility of student and faculty safety relies primarily on the university, Purdue has the opportunity to utilize the crisis call center. This call center is activated within 60 minutes of a crisis situation. It is staffed by professional counselors and therapists on a 24/7 basis as long as needed. It not only relieves the university of the added burden of notifying family and friends, it maintains the reputation of the university. This crisis call center has the capability to receive incoming calls from family and friends of students delivering information about a critical campus event. Congratulations to Purdue University for being the first to sponsor such an event and once again be the leader by example for every university taking responsibility for its student's safety and well being. If your university or college would like the VersiTech Team to visit your campus, please contact our Project Manager at mshimkus@versitechllc.net. |
